If you are a regular follower of this blog, you will know that I live in South Africa. If you are a regular follower of South Africa (perhaps a shakier presumption – many South Africans aren’t), then you will appreciate what a bizarre, smile-inducing place this can be. This point was never clearer than at the traffic lights over the last three days where, on three separate occasions I received pamphlets like this. And this. And this.
In Johannesburg, a city comparable to many in the world in its size and access to developed-nation standards of medical care, luxury items, expensive cars and every other flashy service and bling item that modernity can thrust at you anywhere else in the world, it is refreshing to see that Professor Mamba and Associates can still ensure excellent school grades even for children with mental disabilities. Not just that – I can be guaranteed to be loved and get my loved one out of prison in 5 days. I was mildly concerned after my brother hilighted that both Professor Mamba and Prof Wakho & Dr Ismeal claim to have won Herbalist of the Year in 2007, but I suppose it must have simply been a joint award. Wakho & Ismeal are also the proud winners of the East African Control Council Award for Life-time achievement in Astrology & Herbal Healing (I tried to Google the EACC, but unfortunately they do not appear to have a website).
Oh South Africa – you are so damned strange some days.
Addendum. Professor Mamba, it appears, has in fact been around for quite some time, if previous commentary on his advertising is to be believed. Though it appears that he has re-based himself from Pretoria to Johannesburg. Prof Wakho has been around since at least November of last year.

I just received a pamphlet like the one you show here. The only differences being the name, its no longer Professor Mamba and Associates, instead it is Dr. Kiwa Adam. The writing on the pamphlet states exactly the same as the one you show. I received the pamphlet near Cresta but it looks like the person has moved to Montgomery Park. I think this scam should be stopped.

PLEASE BEWARE!!! I have encountered this man personally and he is a CON!!! And a very expensive exercise it was. They are very good. They have been trained in the art of intuition and they can be very persuasive. This man…Douglas Kabanda aka Professor Mamba ia a Ugandan Spy infiltrating South African society and what a good way to do it!WATCH OUT he is a smooth operator. There is even evidance of this on the net if you just search. In time this man will be exposed*

I received a flyer today from yes a trafic light in Durban North,
The flyer reads K.S Brown Herbals, and yes he too hails as the herbalists of the year in 2006 and 2007 consecutively, has opened up in Umhlanga. He is an Atrologer, Herbalist Healer and researcher. He is the proud winner of the Eastern African Herbalists Control Council Award for a life-time Achievement in Asrology and Herbal Healing.
Is there anyone who has parted money for consultation with these fraudsters? there must be some gullable people out there or these people whould have gone out of business long time ago.
I would be interested to know if someone can stop them.

Oh, he is not alone. Check out the list at http://www.howzzzt.co.za/professor-mamba-and-other-magicians/ – and then have a look at the Flickr collection. It’s growing by leaps and bounds.
